The Fraport AG annual report is based on the guiding principle of growth and responsibility and highlights the tension between the company's growth path and the responsibility associated with it. With the first report in a comprehensive annual report trilogy that focuses on the expansion of Germany's largest airport, Heisters & Partner developed a complex corporate communication strategy spanning three years. The first report describes the period before the expansion and explains the company's strategically responsible actions. The second report addresses the specific challenges of the expansion, while the last report in the series describes the completion of the project and looks to the future. The relaunch of the annual report enabled us to examine and fundamentally revise both the typography and the color and form of the report: clear orientation, transparency and a gripping imagery form the backbone of this communicative reporting system. In order to communicate the balance between growth, expansion and the company's responsibility to its stakeholders in a balanced and credible manner, the report's messages were developed taking into account a specific materiality index.

The aim was to include critical stakeholders in the dialogue and to explain the decisions of Fraport management. The imagery presented those involved with the challenge of portraying the future of Frankfurt Airport, even though the expansion was still to come. The photography, which has a consistent look and light, was created by Swiss photographer Michael Rast and offers the viewer an authentic and fascinating look at the future development of Germany's largest airport. Both the quality of the large-format digital photography and the unusual perspectives and precisely controlled colors sensitively underline the qualitative aspects of the company's planned growth steps. At the same time, the image level of the report becomes the carrier of the facts and figures that demonstrate the foresightedness of the planning and combine it with the emotionality and aesthetics of the ingenious precision of the imagery. Open questions in the images focus on the challenges of growth and provide answers about the future of the company.
